Trainee Bench Chemist
Taros is an independent, privately-owned contract research organization (CRO), located in the Bio-Med Technology Park in Dortmund, Germany. Our mission is to provide advanced and innovative chemistry-driven technologies to our customers in the global marketplace. Our customers range from pharmaceuticals, biotech companies and research institutes to construction, lacquer, dyes, cosmetics and aromatics industries. Taros operates state-of-the-art laboratories, employing a competent team of international chemists in the areas of efficient drug discovery, medicinal chemistry or classical synthetic chemistry.
As a Bench Chemist at our CRO, you will be responsible for carrying out the synthesis of organic or metallo-organic compounds. As a member of the team or working independently, you will work on projects or portions of projects, coordinated by your group leader. You will be required to document results systematically and routinely in an electronic journal. Under supervision you will perform technical tasks using standard laboratory equipment and develop innovative approaches for achieving specific objectives within a project framework. Your work will be reviewed for accuracy, completeness and soundness of technical judgment. You will be required to work in two shifts, changing bi-monthly.
Subsequent to completing your Masters in Organic Chemistry, you will have accumulated experience in multi-stage linear synthesis including processing, separation and analysis. You are expected to be an excellent team-player with great attention to detail, ability to work independently, solid knowledge of organic synthesis and good verbal and written communication skills in English.
Note: Please note that only bench chemists with up to 2 year’s hands-on experience in the industry (not academia) will be considered for this position.
